Hey Society Members!
The book I am reviewing is One Crazy Summer. I chose this book because I think this book can tell you all about what happened in the 1960s even if the characters are fake . This book is about three sisters named Delphine, Fern, and Vonetta, who travel from Brooklyn to Oakland California to visit with their mother, Cecile, who abandoned them. Cecile moved to Oakland and became a supporter of the Black Panther party. Little do the sisters know, Cecile will get arrested for being apart of the Black panther party. While in Oakland the sisters meet some of the Black Panther party, they make signs to protest, they participate in the food program. At the end of the summer, the sisters realized that they have grown closer to their mother and that Fern is a poet just like her mom.
My favorite part is when Delphine, Fern, and Vonneta are about to board the plane back to Brooklyn and they run to their mother and give her a big hug.
A lesson you can learn in this book is that people can make change in you. A rating I would give this book is a 10/10
